Someone asked me today, "Who updates your blogs?" I said, "Really?" How about this question. "Who is reading the blogs?" So, I came to look and wow... no updates since March 2010.

So, Todd Zuccone, founder of EVOMS, launched our service program with Robert Boreham, had a 4 month summer tour, developed and launched new products, crashed a transport into a bridge, got a new transport and have done three TV shows this year and with John Bray the rest of the EVOMS team, continued pushing the 250mph goal for the 997.1TT which is not a 1500 HP monster named, "El Diablo".

Mr. ZÜCZ himself will head to No. California on Monday to pick up one of the first 2010 Porsche 997.2TT PDK's in the USA.

According to Mr. Z, "The PDK, may not have been my preferred choice, but, it will be the popular choice among most drivers. I for one like to zip through the gears manually, but the PDK is faster hands down, no matter how fast you can shift the manual."

Watch for pics posted during the trip... Let's light a candle for good driving weather, eh?

EVOMS EVT900 Engine - Project EK 997TT. Garrett / TiAL GT35/82 turbos, EVOMSit, Cams, Heads.
At 26.5 PSI of boost, the engine is producing 870 AWHP and 820 AWTQ. We are still tuning the ECU and expect the final numbers to be ~900 AWHP and ~840 AWTQ.

The engine power currently is ~ 1023 HP and 988 TQ

The Gumpert apollo is going through tech inspection for a shake down run at TEXAS MILE.

The EVOMS team is the USA representative for the Gumpert apollo . While there is no concern about pressing the car over 200mph, the purpose for the Texas runs is to prepare of the apollo 's soon to be announced run at a USA road course. Stay tuned for more news about where Gumpert will appear.

The EVOMS team continues Punching the Limits of the atmosphere as they surpass 200+ miles per hour.

In the action shot on the left, provided by PHOTOGRAPHIC TENDENCIES, EVOMS founder and head driver, Todd Zuccone takes a controlled exit in a Porsche GT2 at over 200mph. With a 30 mile an hour cross wind and dry weather conditions the course is proving frustrating for all the participants at TEXAS MILE this year.

According to a representative of FRAGSPEED MOTORSPORTS who is on the ground in Texas, "JOETWINT's EVOMS 996 GTXXXX record of 231.4mph will most likely stand this year as conditions are not favorable for breaking records. But as usual it is fun as hell here!"

Here is the second day of the Gumpert apollo build. We had the car together, started and running.

This run is not for Horsepower/Torque reading as you have been used to seeing, but for testing the car to assure everything is where it belongs and does what it is supposed to. Besides, where else can you drive 140mph while watching the engine components!?

And yes... the white numbers on the speedo are MILES per hour... Kilometers are on the inside ring in orange. Today's shake down ranges from 0 - 140.

Marc and Jörg from Gumpert in Germany arrived on Labor Day in Arizona. Today they began working with John Bray and the team at Evolution MotorSports to start assembly of the Gumpert apollo. Amazing progress in one day. Engine, trans in place. Tomorrow lines and fluids.

It's been a great couple weeks. Working on the Egan 996TT and doing final EVOMSit tuning in Denver at Bandimere Raceway.

Check out just one of our runs at the track. Parvin will have more video this weekend! Ballpark figures are 10.666sec/137.1mph*

*This track is at 6000ft and track temps were at 92 degrees. Atmospheric conditions with the altitude density corrected puts altitude is 8500 feet.

Now, I'm off to the Airport and heading to MAXRPM Motorsports in Bremerton, WA for their annual event. Come and check it all out. This is one of the beasts expected at the event.

So, is it the first days of summer and the fact that some places in Germany are still fighting with snow shovels??

Perhaps the strong Euro against the US Dollar for some car shopping? What about the Grand Canyon or proximity to Vegas??? Those are understandable reasons for Germans to visit Arizona in May!

But really, what could bring the Founder and President of Gumpert and maker of the Gumpert Apollo and his senior technician Hans-Peter Fischer all the way to Arizona?

Why is Mr. Gumpert shaking hands with the guy that just designed and drove the fastest Porsche in the world???

Tonight, SpeedChannel will air the NEWEST episode of SuperCars Exposed that was shot at Goliad TX at the TEXAS MILE at the end of March 2009!

Today (Saturday) the EVOMS team ran strong again. While the 997 EVT850 Performance System continues to press on 200mph (recording 198 in the morning run) the 996 with the GTXXX Performance System continues to shatter records established just hours before by the same GTXXX system.

We all know of the swarm of automatic and mobile photo radar sites infecting Arizona roadways. However, all of us locals and visitors to Arizona need to be aware of this new legislation being considered by Arizona law makers. The legislators call it, "S1066" of the Transportation Code...

We will call it, the "Number of the Beast! S1066". Read it and be warned...

S1066 TRANSPORTATION; RACING ON HIGHWAYS

Changes in statutes pertaining to the crime of racing on highways, including extending to 48 months from 24 months the range of time within which a second or subsequent violation will result in enhanced penalties. The fine for a first violation is increased to $750 from $250, and the fine for a second violation is doubled to $1000 from $500.

Moral to the story. Get to the track! Be careful... and get ready, call EVOMS about the full line of Escort detectors, now...

Back in the UK now - little sleep, lots of high speed driving, testing and over 1000 miles logged!

We decided to drive to the Essen Motor Show last minute instead of flying. WOW what an experience. Driving in Europe was amazing and on the Autobahn was a dream. The thought of driving unlimited speed without the risk of loosing my licence is an amazing concept. We made short work of the 500 mile trip driving through the night from the UK through the Channel tunnel to France, then on to Belgium, the Netherlands and finally ending in Germany. We attended the Essen show with only a few hours rest in the car but it was well worth it. More to follow.

OK, I'm not sure if the Queen even has a performance ride. I'm sure she has some bloke driving her around. Regardless, I'm in the UK with Premier Development Partner, Regal Autosport Ltd.

Mr. Fred Courtot's 2004 Porsche Carrera GT gets a drivers checkout as Mike Speck, senior editor of Modified Luxury & Exotics magazine puts the 2004 EVOMS/CGT Performance System for a test drive on the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving track at Firebird International Raceway.

Pro driver, Spencer Sharp pilots the EVOMS EVT700 997TT on Firebird Raceway as a part of our final EVT700 product validation program. The eDRIVE program allows our products to be real world tested by non EVOMS employees in various conditions. Pro driver, Spencer Sharp is the second eDRIVE member to put the EVT700 to the test on the track. Originally tested back in December 07 by Luis F, the EVT700 has more testing than any other project that EVOMS has launched in the past. Enjoy the incredible driving by Spencer!!!

Definition of Insanely Tuned

Well after over 500 dyno pulls, ~2500 dyno miles, ~300 tuning files, ~2500 road miles, numerous top speed runs, track events, drag races, etc, etc, etc, etc, the final 997TT EVT700 is nearly complete. I wanted to let you all know the latest developments. Yesterday, John and I spend what looks to be our final day beating our heads against the wall figuring out the quirks of the 997TT ECU functions. I can assure you that there is no other 997TT performance system on the planet that has more tuning time than this one. The countless time we spent is not because we are not knowledgeable about the car or the tuning, it is because we would not settle for the "industry standard" MEDIOCRITY. If we were marketing this kit in Europe, where the fuel is 98 octane at the pump or here in the USA as a "race"100+ octane system, the tuning would have been completed 4 months ago. We have spent 98% of our time getting this car to perform flawlessly and consistently on our pump fuel in our desert climate.

Consistency is the key to the flawlessness. The car can make decent power while making cold power runs. The difference between the power from run 1 (cold) to run 2 (warm) to run 3 (hot) could vary 100 wheel HP. We have seen this time and time again with the lower grade fuels. Our goal for 4 months was to make nearly the same amount of power and torque for all runs including 2 additional hot power runs consistently. Granted, the conditions in our dyno cell are not ideal in terms of exact road simulation, however if we could achieve our goal in simulation, the road power should be greater than the dyno power. Those of you who have witnessed the madness over the past 4 months, know only a portion of insanity that was going on in my head. I made up a whole new vocabulary of words to call this car. After the cursing, I found myself talking to it like it wanted to listen to me. Ha, it laughed at John and I day after day, week after week, month after month. There was a period of 3 weeks and nearly 100 files that we tested which we started and ended up in the same place. We started from scratch 4 different times and ended back at ground zero. After many translations from babble fish as well as help from my German friend, who assisted with translating nearly 3000 look up tables to find the ones that would ultimately help cure the inconstant power, we found the proper recipe that brought all of the work together . At this point, I can read and translate German, I am writing a new vulgar vocabulary book, my co workers confirmed my insanity, I dream about green and black computer screens, I have been called stubborn bastard who never gives up, I have many new gray hairs, oh yea we will be officially launching the EVT700 with EVOMSit "intelligent tuning" software. How would a guy from AZ know that it could snow at the end of April in MN? Well, so much for a track event with Luis of FRÄGSPEED Motorsports in Brainard MN. We will have to plan for June. You guys ever have snow in June?

This is a photo of my good friend and dealer Luis Galan of Autodynamica, our Mexico and Texas BSD distributor. He and his customer participated in a track event over the weekend with this EVT700. They were nearly 3 seconds faster than the next closest competitor. Good job Luis, way to kill the competition

First SNOW Fling?

Mike sent this picture of Luis FRÄG driving the EVOMS 997 EVT700, designated #41 by the MN PCA for First Fling this weekend.

Notice the forest? That is because they are not on the BIR street course. The weather went crap (3 days of snow and ice) and a few First Fling members took to driving south to find the sun. As it turns out, a drive back into the twin cities was all that was needed.

More to come... and watch the snow drifting! We'll be back to Brainerd International Speedway soon.. perhaps June!

What a kick off to spring...

I've got Mike at the "Brainerd International Snow Plow tourney" with our 997TT EVT700 and his 996TT GT780 3.8L for the huge PCA 1st Fling event in MN. Check out the slippery competitors. Thats snow on the rear window! Its almost MAY, how do they live like that?

Not to worry of course, Mike is with our old Arizona pal - Luis. They are fighting off the cold and the snow... but, the forecast is clear for Saturday and Sunday so, we're hoping for some great pics and vids early next week... now, let me ask something serious...

I would like to take a moment to congratulate Luis on his new company - FRÄGSPEED Motorsports announced this weekend at Brainerd in conjunction with the "First Fling".

Luis will be representing the Evolution MotorSports business in the mid west of the USA and we could not have built a better representative if he were modeled in SolidWorks by Daryl and welded up by Al!

Such great things lining up for the EVOMS entire team!! Can you smell it?

Nothing new for today. Just working on the site and finding how the buttons work. Found a cool shot from the first "soft launch" of RACE FUEL, my High Octane Energy Drink.

Parvin took at early batch down to Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point) in the summer of '07 for a BIG TEX and the BLAZIN' PINTOS show!! Cool, right? RACE FUEL... poolside!

So, this is where it will begin.
